Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year

One of the major challenges in manufacturing is recruitment and retention of skilled workers to support the needs of the industry. A key retention strategy is to recognize employees for their work and dedication. FloridaMakes now provides the means for all manufacturers with a registered apprenticeship program to elevate recognition of their apprentices through the FloridaMakes Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year Awards. Upskilling is the key to closing the skills gap, the statewide Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year will recognize apprentices who demonstrates a positive difference to their employer and an outstanding commitment to learn new skills to prepare for tomorrow's opportunities. 

ELIGIBILITY

Manufacturing Employer with active apprentices currently enrolled in a registered manufacturing apprenticeship program or completed during program year of nomination. 

AWARD CONDITIONS

The winner and other nominees may be featured in promotional activity to advance careers in manufacturing. 

AWARD
The Award will go to entrants who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their professional development and who has gone above and beyond their normal duties and taken on additional responsibilities, which may include encouraging others to consider manufacturing as a career.

The winner(s) will receive a Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year award at the FloridaMakes MakeMore Summit in the fall.  Both apprentice and employer will be featured on FloridaMakes network website, apprenticeship related collateral, social media campaigns and industry targeted occupational videos.

Any highly commended entrants will receive a certificate/letter of recognition.
