One of the major challenges in manufacturing is recruitment and retention of skilled workers to support the needs of the industry. A key retention strategy is to recognize employees for their work and dedication. The "at no cost" Florida Manufacturer Apprentice of the Year program is open to all Florida manufacturers that participate in registered apprenticeship programs. The statewide Manufacturer Apprentice of the Year will recognize apprentices who demonstrates a positive difference to their employer, and an outstanding commitment to learn new skills to prepare for tomorrow's career opportunities. 

ELIGIBILITY

Active apprentices currently enrolled in a registered manufacturing apprenticeship program or who completed their apprenticeship during 2023-24 program year of nomination.

To nominate your apprentices, just complete the nomination form at Florida Manufacturer Apprentice of the Year

AWARD CONDITIONS

The winner and other nominees may be featured in promotional activity to advance careers in manufacturing. 

AWARD
The Award will go to entrants who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their professional development and who has gone above and beyond their normal duties and taken on additional responsibilities, which may include encouraging others to consider manufacturing as a career.

Selected nominees will receive a Manufacturer Apprentice of the Year award at the FABTECH Orlando Expo in October.  Both apprentice and employer will be featured on FloridaMakes network website, apprenticeship related collateral, social media campaigns and industry targeted occupational videos.
