ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 2025) – FloridaMakes, Florida’s industry-led, nonprofit partnership dedicated to advancing the state’s manufacturing sector, has named Micah Daugherty as Vice President of Client Engagement.
Mr. Daugherty brings more than 35 years of experience in manufacturing, production processes, and business consulting to his new position. His extensive background includes leadership roles in business management, Lean and Six Sigma process improvement, sales and marketing, and strategic planning.
As vice president, Micah will oversee FloridaMakes’ statewide delivery operations, ensuring impactful service to manufacturers through regional hubs and external partners. He will guide client engagement efforts, strengthen partnerships, and support FloridaMakes’ mission to foster a world-class manufacturing workforce and resilient supply chains.

Mr. Daugherty joined FloridaMakes in 2019 as a senior business advisor, working closely with manufacturers to improve operational efficiencies, secure grant funding, and drive significant economic impacts. Under his leadership, companies reported a combined increase of $180 million in sales, $750 million in retained sales, $60 million in cost savings, and the creation of more than 1,300 jobs.
An industry expert, Micah has served as lead examiner for the South Florida Manufacturers’Association’s Manufacturer of the Year Award, helping to spotlight excellence and innovation in the sector. He has collaborated with over 60 companies on transformative projects in industries ranging from aerospace to food processing, delivering an estimated $60 million in cost savings and a 25% average increase in client sales.

A resident of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Mr. Daugherty is a professional pocket billiards player and former professional golfer, an outdoor and travel enthusiast, and wildlife photographer.
