ABOUT THE TOOL & DIE MAKER APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Tool & Die Maker Apprenticeship is a competency-based training program that prepares individuals to build, repair, and maintain the precision tools and dies used in high-performance manufacturing operations. Apprentices gain the technical expertise and problem-solving skills needed to support efficient production and ensure quality in every part produced.
Trains Workers on:
The frameworks include safety and workplace readiness, precision machining and fabrication, tool and die design and assembly, quality and continuous improvement, and leadership and communication in manufacturing. During the training period, apprentices follow a structured training plan that allows them to master occupational skills in the context of an employer’s organization and access theoretical content on demand through ToolingU-Sme's online Learning Management System. The competency based program is designed to provide a minimum of online self-paced 230 Related Technical Instruction (RTI) hours.
Through the coursework delivered by Tooling U-SME, participants learn to interpret blueprints, operate advanced machinery, troubleshoot die performance, and ensure production of high-quality components that power Florida’s manufacturing sector.
