Wondering where to find Florida students who are learning manufacturing skills? How to connect with these students? The Florida Advanced Technological Education Center (FLATE) works with programs across the state that are teaching technical skills to build the manufacturing workforce pipeline. Learn how to find the schools teaching these programs, how to connect with educators and partners to gain access to this pool of workers, and how you can participate in ensuring that new and existing programs teach the skills you need in your facility.
FLATE also supports the workforce pipeline by promoting manufacturing careers to students of all ages through Manufacturing Month student events. Manufacturing Month is celebrated annually in October to raise awareness and change the perceptions of students, educators, parents, and community leaders. National surveys of student participants have shown that:
89% became more aware of manufacturing jobs in their community
87% were convinced that manufacturing jobs were safe, clean & high tech
84% believed that manufacturing careers could be exciting and rewarding
71% planned to tell friends, family or colleagues about careers in manufacturing
Get the word out to your future workforce about the high-tech careers available at your company! In addition to tips and best practices from FLATE, this webinar will include a panel of local manufacturers who will share their effective strategies for hosting student tours during Manufacturing Month and throughout the year.
