Dave is a FloridaMakes Business Advisor based out of Port Charlotte, serving manufacturing companies throughout Southwest Florida. Dave's career in manufacturing spans over 40 years, starting as a machine operator working summers through college then holding positions as Plant Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and most recently, General Manager. As Senior Manufacturing Engineer and Project Manager for both Westinghouse and ABB, he managed multi-million dollar plant relocation and consolidation projects including the development of the plant layouts and selection and oversight of the architects and contractors for facility modifications.
Dave began his consulting career over 15 years ago with the NIST MEP program in Florida and later founded DAVLIN Productivity Group, Inc., a consulting, training, and accounting company. A LSS Blackbelt and instructor, Dave has trained hundreds of students in Lean-Six Sigma and facilitated the implementation of LSS tools and methodologies in manufacturing companies with as few as 8 employees to those with well over 500 employees.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
