While we cannot take all the credit, the SRMA over its 45-year history, has advocated for pro-manufacturing policies such as Sales Tax Exemption on capital equipment and utilities, and the elimination of sales tax on commercial leased property, or rent tax.

In one specific case, our resource was able to assist a manufacturing member receive nearly a $1 million refund from the state, as there is a 3-year grace period to explore.
We continue the conversation about the Tangible Personal Property Tax (TPPT), as it is a deterrent for relocating businesses. While we would love to see it disappear, we know counties rely on the funds it generates. Let's at least implement a formalized structure! It's crazy that companies are paying tax on 50-year old production equipment, 25-year old office furniture, and paintings on the wall.
