Staff Accountant Position Description
FloridaMakes provides improvement solutions to manufacturers to increase growth and bottom-line savings and develops initiatives designed to advance the State’s manufacturing sector through talent development, technology assistance and business growth. We deliver innovative assessment, training and consulting services customized to meet the specific needs of our clients. Clients include all manufacturers in the state of Florida, with a focus on small-to-mid-sized firms. FloridaMakes is the NIST Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership center in Florida and is a non-profit partnership of federal, state, and private industry (www.floridamakes.com).
FloridaMakes, headquartered in Orlando, FL, is operated by regional manufacturers associations and in partnership with other related organizations to provide services to manufacturers throughout the entire State.
The successful candidate will be a highly proactive team member who performs a variety of financial, accounting and grant support services in order to meet the needs of the organization. This position is responsible for entering financial information, preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls and providing financial reporting. Working closely with the Finance team, the Staff Accountant will focus primarily on accounting, budgeting, compliance, reporting and variance analysis functions.
FloridaMakes is a rapidly-growing organization; the employee will continually have new and varied responsibilities. The candidate will be skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
This position is based at the FloridaMakes headquarters office in Orlando, Florida; however, FloridaMakes will equally consider candidates located elsewhere within the State of Florida, supplemented by regular face-to-face meetings in the Orlando office. Some local travel and occasional overnight travel may be required.
The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. The employee may be required to work long hours at certain times. Occasional evenings may be required for special events.

The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is not expected to have supervisory responsibility.
