September 22nd is SFMA’s 56th Annual Meeting. The event has several different components and we hope you will come to all of them – the Training EXPO, the Product EXPO and Cocktail Reception and the Dinner MEETING featuring Keynote Speaker Linda Fowler and a STATE of the SFMA report.
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Training EXPO, let by the SFMA Director of Training Phil Centonze will introduce you to the cadre of SFMA trainers and consultants available to meet your custom development needs. Phil will discuss what development is available through the SFMA network in partnership with FloridaMakes. Last year more than 15 instructors and service delivers were on hand to meet manufacturing members.
4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. The Product EXPO and Cocktail Reception will be in full swing. 50 display booths will be available for attendees to visit. See what is made right here in south Florida and learn services available to help manufacturers. Two Electric Vehicles will be on display – sponsored by the Title Sponsor Florida Power & Light. A drawing for door prizes will be awarded during the dinner to those attendees participating in the EXPO Game.
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – KEYNOTE Speaker and Dinner Meeting The Keynote Speaker at the 56th SFMA Annual Meeting Linda Fowlerwill address the Manufacturing Ecosystem – what it is and how it helps manufacturers. Manufacturing Ecosystems involve a broad coalition of partners from industry, economic development, workforce development, education, government, and philanthropy. Through this diversity of expertise industries can strengthen and grow. Come to the annual meeting to learn about the ecosystem that affects our industry and how participation can affect your company. Ms. Fowler has extensive experience in regional economic development and partnership, manufacturing competitiveness, innovation strategy and sustainable communities. She was a Senior Technology and Business Advisor to the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST-MEP) for 13 years. NIST-MEP is a Department of Commerce program focused on strengthening the competitiveness of small and mid-sized manufacturers.
