ORLANDO – Ray Aguerrevere, Vice President of Custom Metal Designs in Orlando, has been named to the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP) Advisory Board. The MEP Advisory Board is a national board, that is legislatively mandated and established pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA).
“As the Chairman of the FloridaMakes Board of Directors, Mr. Aguerrevere is committed to the advancement of Florida’s manufacturing industry,” said Kevin Carr, CEO ofFloridaMakes. “I am confident his passion and experience will make a significant impact on the national level.”
NIST MEP is a public-private partnership with Centers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico dedicated to serving small- and medium-sized manufacturers. Last year, MEP Centers interacted with 28,213 manufacturers, leading to $15.7 billion in new and retained sales, $1.5 billion in cost savings, $4.5 billion in new client investments, and the creation and retention of more than 114,000 jobs.

I look forward to representing Florida on this board and to help grow this vibrant and essential sector.”
Aguerrevere will join a team of approximately 15 manufacturing professionals nationwide chosen to provide advice and guidance to the National Manufacturing Extension Partnership. The NIST MEP Advisory Board is expected to assist in identifying proactive actions that will enable small manufacturers to successfully address and implement changes in technology and the business environment in the future.
