Northrop Grumman, in collaboration with the University of Southern California’s Center for Economic Development, is offering free cybersecurity training to small businesses through an Air Force Small Business Office Mentor Protégé Program.
This workshop is open to all small businesses.
Advance registration is required.
Northrop Grumman and the US Air Force are offering a free seminar & webinar on Department of Defense cyber security requirements for contractors (DFARS 204.73 and NIST 800-171) on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019.
This series of workshops is being produced in order to ensure that small businesses are aware of the cybersecurity requirements mandated under the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) Subpart 204.73. Contractors and sub-contractors who are not compliant with these cybersecurity control requirements may risk losing their eligibility to bid on future defense-related contract work, and in some cases, may jeopardize their ability to continue to perform on existing federal defense contracts.
The seminar and webinar will focus on understanding the risks associated with safeguarding controlled unclassified DoD information. The workshop will focus on the group of information and network security controls outlined in the NIST 800-171 guidance document, with examples highlighting what happens when these controls are not implemented.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will become familiar with the stipulations of these requirements, including the 110 controls identified within the NIST guidance, and be better able to identify the areas where you may need greater focus within your own organization’s systems in order to meet the DoD’s cybersecurity expectations.
There is an in-person seminar in Melbourne and an online webinar option also available. The seminar is free but registration is required.
Registration for both the seminar and webinar is available here: https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07eg4cbugm5ac57340&oseq=&c=&ch=
